Non toxic minimalist aesthetic hand poured candle in a cement jar on a black stand with a black wick trimmer next to it

Do You Really Need Another Candle? Probably Not.

I am a firm believer that less is more. Quality over quantity. Minimalism over maximalism.

There is a direct correlation between how much stuff you have in your home to how much overwhelm you feel. Our brains are not created to handle clutter and disorganization. We can function, but eventually too much stuff will cause anxiety and overwhelm. What does that mean? Well, obviously the less stuff we have the less overwhelmed we feel.

So, rarely will you hear me say, "BUY MORE SHIT!"

I understand the irony of me writing a blog post that's directly linked to my storefront......where I sell a product.

BUT, stay with me here.

I can tell you all day long that you should buy our candles because they are refillable. Which they are. Or because they are non toxic. Which they are. Or because they are sustainable, clean burning and completely hand crafted. You know where I'm going with this. They're all of these things...plus, they smell freaking fantastic and are drool worthy gorgeous. FACTS!

But do any of us really need another candle? Probably not.

Does your kid's teacher need another candle? Probably not.

Does your mom need another candle? Probably not.

But we live in a world full of noise and chaos and we are a society that absolutely worships the idea of being busy.

So what we actually need is:

Simplicity.
Connection.
Comfort.
Relaxation.
Happiness.
Peace.

And when we have a problem we want the easiest solution to that problem.

Is a candle world changing? Umm, no. But can it change your mood? You bet your ass it can. And that's a scientific fact. And I don't f*ck with facts.

A candle is a path to creating ambiance and evoking emotion. So let's take a little look at the range of feelings that candles can bring out in us.

The feeling of calm. Lighting a candle can create a sense of peace and tranquility. From a lavender-scented candle in the bedroom or a smokey vanilla during a meditation session, candles can help us relax and unwind. There's something about the glow that makes us feel centered and grounded.

Then there's the feeling of coziness. There's nothing like a candle to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Snuggling up with a book and a tobacco whiskey candle is the perfect way to spend a winter evening. It's like having a mini fireplace without the hassle of chopping wood.

Candles aren't all about the cozy vibes. They can also bring on feelings of energy and motivation. A citrus candle can be the perfect thing to give us a burst of energy on a sluggish morning.  And if you're in need of a little inspiration, a candle with a peppermint or rosemary scent can help stimulate your mind and get those creative juices flowing and also keep you focused.

Candles aren't just for solo relaxation time. They can also create a sense of togetherness and connection. A candlelit dinner with friends or a cozy night in with your significant other can be made even more special with the addition of candles. Ambiance is a real thing. That's why bougie hotels and spas literally spend thousands of dollars to pipe scent into the air.

All of those things. All of the feels. That's what we need more of. A candle, a belly full of good food. Shoes off, bare feet, criss-cross curled up on the couch and some laughs with your besties.

Connection. That's what we are craving.

Sign me up for that.
